Is War Necessary?

I don't think that war is necessary, but in many cases war is necessary. There are millions of ways things in this world can be settled without war. But in some cases fighting is the only way to get a point across. Either you want to see whose army is better, or you are fighting to earn something that you think you deserve.

How did European Exploration and Colinuization forever change the landscape and lives of people in the Old and New world?

Europeans brought about a lot of things that we still practice and do today. They brought different kinds of foods. They brought different cultures and religions. The Europeans also brought over simple stuff; spices, tobacco, sugar. All of those things could be sold for a profit. The Europeans brought over Christianity. Which is a religion that most people in the world practice today. Christianity is one of the most dominant religions out today.

Carpe Diem

To me it means living in the moment - making each moment count. It also means being in the present, not worrying about the past, or letting this moment go by because you are waiting for some future event. This doesn't mean you ignore the lessons of the past, and it doesn't mean you don't set goals. It means that this moment is full of possibilities.

Discovering the Undiscovered

I wouldn't go on this voyage to outer space. I mean, this is a place that no one has ever been, so there could be something very dangerous there. If no one has ever been there they wouldn't know how the climate was or anything. But there could be many good things coming if I was to go. I would get recognized as the first person to go to this place. It could be exciting to go to a place that no one has ever been. you'd probably see things you would never dream about seeing. But me personally, I would'nt go.

Why do Religions Exist?

I think religons exist so that different cultures can express their different beliefs. There are many different cultures in america. Religons just give people a chance to express theirselves among their own culture. Many people say that religons are powers that controls human destiny. My religon is Christian.

What does it mean to be civilized?

Being civilized means to have a very high developed culture. People say "Act in a civilized behaviour", so you could take that to mean that being civilized is the same as being polite or even respectful. Civilized is defined in the dictionary as having a very high respect for your culture. That is why you see so many different kinds of people in America. There are different languages, foods, and types of clothing. Being civilized means to just respect your culture and what you believe in.
